Floathome on the Bottom?

At the rate The Fraser River is filling in with silt, most floathomes, boats and marinas are on the bottom at low tides. These are our investments and the government is doing nothing to help us stay afloat.
The Mud Mower is designed to level and lower the silt underneath our homes and wharves quietly, with minimal labour.

TESTIMONIALS

Butch & Carol N.

On the low tides last winter, we found our floathome was grounding significantly after the dump of silt from the
atmospheric river in November 2021.

We were commiserating at that time with marina operators and floathome owners in other locations regarding the similar predicament we found each other in. During one of these conversations, it was suggested that we explore using a Mud Mower.

We met with Chris, the owner and developer of the Mud Mower and he gave us a demo of how the Mud Mower
operates.

At that time our house was grounding by more than a foot and to make matters worse it was not grounding level. Chris explained that a lot of trial & error had gone into the development of a successful Mud Mower system. He showed us before and after images of a couple of floathomes which had been in worse situations than ours.

We decided to purchase a Mud Mower and started using it with Chris’s supervision. We quickly decided to hire Chris to do the moving and redirection of the Mud Mower. To be honest, the Mud Mower is a bit heavy and at our ages our bodies are no longer up for lifting heavy objects. We always felt engaged in the process and were pleased that he demonstrated real concern for ensuring the best results were going to be achieved.

Chris demonstrated to us that the Mud Mower was most efficient when following a system that he had developed. I am happy to report that we are now floating and will not be grounding on the low tides this winter.

We’ve lived in our floathome for 35 years and have never come across a more useful tool.

The Mud Mower has a negligible profile and operates on house electricity of 15 amps 120 volts. It is quiet & will not disturb your neighbours.

We cannot recommend it more highly.

Sincerely,
Butch Nelson and Carol Boyce Nelson

I think the Mud Mower saved my float home. I was at such an angle at low tide that my doors could not open! I was able to see how well the mud mower worked at levelling my neighbours home. It cleared out and levelled a couple of other homes in the marina.

Chris and his mud mower came to the rescue and I was able to enter and exit my house in a short period of time. I was level within two weeks.

Needless to say, I have purchased my own Mud Mower in preparation for the whatever the mighty Fraser river might bring.

We have had a Mud Mower for over a year now and our floathome has gone from sitting 8 inches out of the mud at a 0 tide to floating.

We have a larger concrete float of 1500 square feet with a 4 foot draft.

The process is very simple and is not labour intensive at all. Chris is very hands on in the management and training to use the machine.

We would highly recommend the Mud Mower to all floathome dwellers and should soon be an essential item, much like a lawn mower is to someone with a yard, on every floathome contending with silt.
